The Business Development group at Edison is responsible for identifying and generating a consistent flow of qualified companies for investment consideration. Duties for this full time in our Lawrenceville NJ office include:

  • Proactively contacting executives of emerging software and communications companies located in the Mid-Atlantic region.
  • Qualifying candidates relative to the Edison investment criteria and introducing investment team
  • Maintaining rapport with executives at companies not yet meeting criteria
  • Communicating Edison's value and experience in building growth companies
  • Identify new sources of prospective companies (trade publications, events etc.)
  • Coordinating efforts with Regional Investment Team
  • Attend trade, venture and networking events
  • Meeting team and individual performance goals
  • Light local travel required

Qualifications:

  • Financial Technology Experience
  • Professional, focused, goal-oriented, team player
  • Excellent relationship building skills
  • Exposure to business development, sales and/or relationship management
  • Familiar and comfortable with prospecting techniques
  • Familiarity with business models and financial principles
  • Proficiency with online search techniques, data bases and Microsoft Office
  • Exposure to the information technology and application software industry
  • Prefer approximately 5 years of relevant business experience
  • Bachelors Degree and possibly MBA
  • Live within an hour of our Headquarter's office in central NJ
  • After several years, Business Development staff members have been promoted to Investment Manager, analysis staff and Business Development Director.
