Edison's Business Development group uncovers the top emerging growth companies from New York to Virginia. Over the past five years the Business Development Team has further raised Edison's presence in the market.

Edison conducts extensive market research and reaches out proactively to find investment opportunities. Seven experienced professionals originate proprietary deal flow, directly impacting the firms overall queue of investment candidates.

These origination methods include: direct outreach to entrepreneurs, cultivating relationships with select service providers and investors, targeting specific sectors, attending industry events and deploying an ambitious communications program to keep all constituents abreast of Edison's activities.

Donna Usiskin, Director of BD, brings 15 years experience in sales, marketing and business development. Donna was VP Sales of an Edison portfolio company. She graduated from Rutgers. Over the past five years Donna has originated many Edison investments. She specializes in the pharmaceutical and healthcare IT business sectors.

The BD professionals possess domain expertise in multiple verticals including Financial Technology, Healthcare, Interactive Marketing, Wireless, E-Commerce, Digital Media and Pharma Business Solution industries. Comprehensive knowledge of the markets, technology and understanding of the competitive landscape is an Associates mission. Associates industry knowledge allows them to be selective in prospective Investment Candidates as well as an exceptional initial resource to entrepreneurs.

Somak Chattopadhyay, BD Manager, sources investment opportunities for senior Edison investment professionals by collaborating with technology-focused service providers and other financing sources. His expansive network of contacts keep him aware of investment candidates just starting to seek funding. Somak refers opportunities with Edison's portfolio companies and investment candidates. He is based in Edison's New York City office near Penn Station.


Dahlia Kang and Rob Finn, BD Associates, identify investment candidates and contact entrepreneurs directly. They qualify and forward opportunities to senior Edison investment professionals based on sector and region. Dahlia and Rob confer with management on financing requirements and lead them through Edison's initial investment process.
Joy Whitney, Rearch Analyst, conducts market research to support lead generation. Joy brings over 16 years experience in business research and information technology to formulate valuable insights into emerging market segments. If there is a company emerging in one of our sectors - Joy knows just who they are and how they fit into the existing landscape. Joy utilizes advanced search technologies to uncover and track information technology businesses.
Tricia Bradley, Marketing Manager, conducts Edison's messaging to entrepreneurs and service providers. She designed and maintains Edison's comprehensive website. Her key announcements alert our constituents to new investments, exit transactions, awards and events. Edison marketing materials concisely describe Edison's investment profile, process and value-added-services.
