“Working hard and working smart are not mutually exclusive. Although certain situations demand more than the other, sustainable success is only achieved with a long term balance. ”

Michael brings to Edison nearly a decade of investment and financial experience.  Michael believes that high growth companies face a unique set of challenges during their inflection period.  Often times the people best equipped to assist teams with those challenges are advisors with experience and a fresh perspective.

Michael’s investment focus spans Revenue Generation, eCommerce & Consumer Technologies.  He leverages his experience in these sectors along with Edison’s strong domain knowledge to add value to high growth companies.  Located just outside Boston, Michael is actively sourcing and evaluating investments throughout New England.

Prior Experience

Prior to joining Edison, Michael was a Principal at Polaris Venture Partners where he was responsible for sourcing and leading investments across a range of sectors. While there, Michael was also responsible for building and leading Polaris’ outbound deal-sourcing effort.

Previously, Michael was with Summit Partners’ Venture Fund.  He was responsible for sourcing and executing investments in various software companies.  Michael began his career in investment banking with Hambrecht & Quist.  He advised New England based software and media companies through mergers, acquisitions and financings.

Education

AB, Economics, Harvard University

MBA, Stanford Graduate School of Business

I was never the most naturally gifted individual in the classroom nor on the playing field.  I learned that the biggest factor in reaching my potential was hard work.  I was fortunate that my family and support network provided me the inspiration and resources that I needed at different points along the way.  I approach relationships with our executive teams in a similar manner.  One of the most valuable things that I do as a trusted advisor is surround our teams with the people, perspective and resources they need to reach their goals.
