Ryan joined Edison in 2003 helping to spearhead their business development efforts before joining the investment team in 2005.  He is passionate about improving the lives of others through the use of innovative technology as well as helping to support entrepreneurs build world-class companies.

Directing the New York office and Interactive Marketing & Digital Media practice, Ryan is the powerhouse needed to motivate the investment team and drive results, having completed investments totaling over $95M invested capital.  He brings experience in finance, sales, marketing capital formation and business strategy.

For Ryan, the workday doesn’t stop when work is done. He spends much of his time influentially serving a variety of regional venture and technology organizations.

Ryan Ziegler leads Edison’s Interactive Marketing & Digital Media practice and manages growth-stage investments within media and marketing technology, social media, mobile and information services sectors.  He brings experience in finance, sales, marketing, capital formation and business strategy.  He directs Edison's New York City office and regional team, completing investments in over a dozen emerging companies totaling over $95M invested capital.

Ryan is an active member in many venture industry networking organizations, specifically in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic region. He is a frequent speaker at entrepreneurial events, technology conferences and financing seminars. He is passionate about improving the lives of others through the use of innovative technology and helping to support entrepreneurs build world-class companies.

Prior Experience

Ryan sourced and evaluated new investments in over a dozen Edison investments. He currently serves as a Director for the Cadient Group (Observer), eChalk, Lifebooker, NetProspex and Operative Media (Observer).

Ryan joined Edison in 2003 as Manager of Business Development. He managed and expanded Edison's extensive network of technology executives, service providers and capital sources generating proprietary investment opportunities. Previously, Ryan was in the Associates program with SEI (NASDAQ: SEIC). While there he worked in the enterprise sales, marketing and investment strategy teams serving multiple financial market segments. He launched a multi-billion dollar distribution channel program for SEI's enterprise business unit.

Ryan participates in numerous regional technology organizations. He is on the selection committee for the NYCVA Ingenuity Conference, the steering committee for the NYC Venture Connection (NYCVC), the advisory board for the NYC Venture Summit, and is on the board of the Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA) VC Group.
